Maura has been hosting and flowering for most of her life. She has studied with master floral designers around the world and is happiest when she’s teaching others how to see anew so as to find and create beauty with mostly foraged finds. She is a true floral and design enthusiast who loves travel, food, kids and the getting her hands dirty in the garden!
Voted one of the Nation’s top ten designers on the rise by Domino Magazine, Katie Scott is a creative force whose work can be seen throughout the country. Dozens of publications have featured Katie’s interior design such as Domino, Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Interiors, Country French, Southern Living, New York Post, WWD, Luxe and more! Katie was thrilled to be chosen to design the La Laurie mansion top to bottom cleansing it of its horrid past and infusing it with a new, sensual sensibility that is unlike anything in the French Quarter. To work with Maura Whalen of Casablanca Floral is also a thrill as Katie believes Maura’s work holds tremendous power and believes in the power of flowers to further cleanse and renew the La Laurie mansion as well as others throughout the globe.
